Ceramics Elective

My first venture after the Christmas rush was into the field of ceramics. I found the two weeks I spent in this discipline strangely like relaxation therapy or meditation! I was never so at ease. The act of smoothing out my pieces and trying to form them perfectly was right up my alley and I thoroughly enjoyed spending 'quality time' with my ceramics pieces!

I even made something I can be proud of!
We learned how to use raku firing techniques, a prcatice I had never so much as heard of! Now however, confessing to me that you never heard of raku would evoke a response along the lines of 'What!! I don't belileve you!'. I grew to love even the barbeque smoke smell the smouldering smoke bins left behind on every inch of my clothing!Unfortunately for me this particular odour did not withstand the wrath of my washing detergent :(



Unfortunately, I can't say much for the bowl i threw but you have to start somewhere!
